The pace and intensity of our modern lifestyle takes it’s toll on mind, body and emotions. Stressful moods, digestive dis-ease and running around at a turbulent pace are things all too common for today’s westerner.

We must make time to reset our “soulful navigation system” so that it gets us where we truly want to be. Yoga can help. So can your home. For the yogin, the seasonal change of the natural world needs to be a milestone, reminding us to pause, regroup and recommit to what matters most to us in this one precious life.

Autumn Reset is a 14 day “heart-in-your-kitchen-bootie-on-your-mat” course led by Sarah Rusnak. It’s designed to help you:

Reduce unwholesome cravings and increase nutrition

Make time for yoga, meditation, mindfulness and gratitude

Sleep better, stress less and love more

YOUR BEAUTIFUL BODY IS CHANGING, IT’S TIME TO GET CREATIVE.

At a younger age you could get away with the “no approach” approach to staying positive and feeling strong. It was pretty easy to bounce back from long days, late nights and putting everyone else’s needs in front of your own. With socially approved home-remedies like coffee, chocolate, Netflix and wine all was right in your tiny universe. 

Regretably, when the “bounce back factor” begins to fail there’s more:

  • Body aches and pains
  • Edginess, worry and all-consuming moods
  • Restless or sleepless nights
  • Afternoon tiredness or spaced out thinking

If you can relate, you’re not alone. These symptoms are your body’s way of telling you that it needs more support. You CAN do something about them. You can step out of the cultural norms and create a lifestyle that honors and tends to the needs of your physiology.

 

There’s no time like the present. Now is the time to create a new normal when it comes to mind-body preventative healthcare. Be the change.

This time is about nourishment & filling your tank. It's not about perfectionism & a bunch of extra work.

10/25 – 10/29 is all about setting up, gathering your foods & a gentle start.

10/30 – 11/4 is when you move into structured boundaries, focused flow & ease.

11/5 – 11/8 is all about a gentle finish & returning to your NEW normal.

AUTUMN IS THE IDEAL TIME TO GET ROOTED AND RESET.

After the busy schedules, intense conditions and extended daylight of summer we need to change the game. Without a mindful plan Autumn can swoop us up into feeling as harried as the squirrel gathering seeds and as fragile as the fallen leaves. 

 

The dark, cold days of winter can be trying on the body and psyche. Autumn begs us get back into our homes and prepare for the winter months, it’s the perfect time to give yourself extra support so your body can replenish on a deeper level. When you do you’ll be more equip to avoid:
  • Sugar cravings and holiday weight gain
  • Unpredictable mood and energy swings
  • SAD and the winter blues
  • Gas, bloating & poor digestion
  • Eating out & grabbing food on the go 
  • Ignoring your needs for deep R & R

AUTUMN RESET IS AN ANNUAL DEEP DIVE FOR YOUR WELL-BEING.

Detoxes, shake plans and juice fasts have become commonplace in the yoga and wellness communities. Most often the scanty food plans are touting weight loss and there’s no mention of changing your lifestyle status quo. Ayurveda’s approach to detox is different. It teaches the importance of incorporating mental and emotional detox along with the food plan.

Ultimately, the goal is to make your detox look and feel different from your usual daily game plan. The deepest, most reverent part of our detox lasts for about 5 days but we enter into this deep part with preparation and intention. We exit from the deep days in a mindful, gentle way. This structure allows your nervous system to stay out of stress, when the nervous system is calm, your mind and body let go.

 

Weight loss, bright eyes and glowing skin are not the primary focus of this detox though they will quite likely be a side effect.

 

Autumn Reset is all about having:

  • An annual nourishing detox that’s kind of like an at home retreat.
  • A calming, stress reducing experience.
  • A plan to clean up and streamline your kitchen and food. 
  • Time to practice yoga, mindfulness and meditation. 
  • Time to clearly state your intentions and gratitude.
