Establishing a routine with yoga will help you build a lifetime commitment to caring for this one precious body you’ve been given, you’ll gain flexibility, strength, balance and personal peace.

Yoga offers you a platform to study the interconnected nature of your body and life. As you commit to this practice you can change not only your quality of life but also the way that you age and your ability to contribute to everything around you.

Forrest Yoga is ideal for relieving tension and building strength.

I have loads of faith in the teachings of Forrest Yoga, I’ve watched many people reap the benefits of it’s unique ability to relieve their chronic neck and shoulder tension. In my training and sharing of Forrest yoga I’ve learned to teach people how to use this practice to feel the imbalances that are going on in their body on any given day, and shift them. I like to keep the temperature of the yoga room around 80 degrees and we’ll always do some specific core work. Expect to get a light detoxifying sweat on.

Unwinding the Neck, Shoulders and Hips

This progressive series offers a wealth of effective techniques that will bring relief, release and pleasurable strength to these common tight spots. Expect to gain new awareness of your daily movement and tension building patterns. Develop balance and freedom by igniting the potential of your strong core.

In addition to live classes students receive additional education via email. Newsletters will offer course specific options for your home practice as well as a written review and recap of the concepts introduced in the classes; this will help to keep your yoga momentum rolling between sessions.

Progressions in Yoga Foundations

These 3 different series are offered sequentially, contact me if you’re ready to get started. I’d love to have you!

In this 4 week progressive series, you will develop and build upon the foundations of a skillful yoga practice. You will gain the tools you need to safely experience the benefits of yoga. These classes are for almost all body types and fitness levels.

After taking this course you will be able to:

  • Experience proper alignment and breathing while in the yoga poses
  • Modify a pose to meet your specific needs
  • Feel the difference that consistent yoga makes in your day to day living

Strengthen your foundation of Forrest Yoga with the next step. Now that you are feeling the benefits of consistent yoga and you’ve learned the basics of alignment and breath, you’re ready to move on to more challenging poses at a slightly quicker pace.

Equally important, in this course you’ll learn to embody deeper levels of mindfulness in your movements and breathing.  With this skill in your tool belt you learn to get really good at using your time on your yoga mat to address and unwind the areas of tension and soreness that are showing up in your body on that particular day.

After taking this course you will be able to:

  • Mindfully connect with your body, skillfully bring relief to your areas of tension and pain
  • Explore using yoga as a tool to process and alleviate emotional stress
  • Safely experience challenging poses like inversions, backbends and deeper twists

The fluid movement and breath focus of the Sun Salutation practice offers us loads of benefits. However, sometimes small misalignments of the poses can add up to repetitive stress injuries. This 4 week series offers a wealth of effective techniques to refine and align your Downward Facing Dog, Plank, Chaturanga, Upward Facing Dog and Cobra. Taught at a moderate pace with breaks to “workshop” individual poses, this course is suitable for most levels. Experience the joy of uniting breath and movement!

After taking this course you will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between A and B series of the Sun Salutation sequence
  • Experience the benefits of Forrest Yoga’s unique approach to the Sun Salutations
  • Feel in your body what safe alignment is in each of the poses that make up the Sun Salutation sequence

I would recommend these classes to anyone beginning yoga or even to those experienced who want to perfect their technique. Thank you Sarah!
